No other persons <br />asked to be recognized and the public hearing was closed. <br />The Board next conducted a public hearing on proposed amendments to <br />the Subdivision Ordinance. The Chairman recognized Mrs. Max Matthews, Chairman <br />of the Planning Board, Mr. Worth Pickard, member of the Planning Board, and <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, Planner. Mr. Barefoot reviewed the proposed amendments <br />and advised the Board that the Planning Board had withdrawn the recommendation that <br />the excluded conveyances of ten acre parcels be reduced to five acres. Mr. Barefoot <br />explained that because of soil, that did pass perculation tests in certain parts of the <br />County, the Planning Board decided it was best to leave the area requirement at ten <br />acres. Mr. R. B. Lemmond spoke in favor of the amendments which provide for a <br />minor subdivision category and procedure. No one else asked to speak and the public <br />hearing was closed. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the subdivision be <br />amended as follows: <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. That Article V, of the Lee County Subdivision <br />Ordinance be amended by adding Section D, as follows: <br />D. Minor Subdivisions <br />Certain subdivisions which are subject to this ordinance <br />are classified as minor subdivisions and simplified procedures <br />for reviewing and approving them are established in Article VII. <br />"Minor Subdivisions" means: <br />1. Any subdivision of one lot which fronts on an existing <br />public street or has permanent access and egress by an exclusive <br />easement of at least 30 feet which would serve not more than two <br />lots. <br />2. Any subdivision which involves two (2) lots or less <br />fronting on an existing public street which: <br />a. does not involve any new public street or will not <br />involve any new street, whether public or private, to give <br />access to interior lots or parcels. <br />b. does not involve the extension of public sewerage <br />or water lines or the creation of new drainage easements, <br />c. will not adversely affect the development of the <br />remainder of the parcel or of adjoining property, and <br />
