David Prevatte <br />RE Pre- application for Funding from the N.C. Governors Crime <br />Commission <br />SU_: The Lee County Sheriff's Office is asking approval to submit two <br />separate applications for funding with the N.C. Governors Crime <br />Commission. The first application is for $10,000 (no required match) <br />to support the Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management, local law <br />enforcement agencies and Lee County public and private schools <br />training for emergency response training exercise. The second grant <br />is up to $80,000 in federal funding, with a local 25% match. This <br />grant is for one year of funding and will support 2 uniformed deputy <br />positions; a deputy would be based at Greenwood and Deep River <br />Schools. <br />BUDGET IMPACT Local match of 25% (approximately $25,000) will be requested in the <br />2013 -14 budget year to support the second grant request. <br />ATTACHMENT(S) Copy of 2013 NCGCC CJ Funding Priorities <br />PUBLIC HEARING No <br />PRIOR BOARD ACTION N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION Approve requests to apply for funding with the N.C.
