0 BOOK 22 PALE 235 <br />EE (COUNTY <br />'l__._. <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />July 28, 2008 <br />The special joint public meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, and members of the Sanford City Council, <br />convened at 5:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Cooperative Extension Office, 2420 <br />Tramway Road, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present <br />were Robert H. Brown, James C. Kelly, Jerry M. Lemmond, and Nathan E. <br />Paschal. Commissioners John T. Ouiggle, Robert T. Reives, and Linda A. Shook <br />were absent. <br />Chairman Brown called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. <br />General Services Director Russell Spivey delivered the invocation. <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />Mayor Cornelia Olive introduced Mr. Paul Dordal, Director of the BRAC <br />Regional Task Force who shared information on the comprehensive growth plan <br />for Sanford and Lee County. Mr. Dordal discussed the eleven (11) working groups <br />which include: <br />• Education <br />• Transportation <br />• Workforce Needs and Higher Education <br />• Economic Impact <br />• Housing <br />• Infrastructure <br />• Medical Services <br />• Meeting/Special Activities <br />• Land Use <br />• Regional Communication <br />• Recreation <br />
