MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS J FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA Friday, March 20, 1981 The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, convened in the Commissioners Room in the Lee County , Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. the same being the time, date, and place specified in the motion of adjournment. Those present were Commissioners John E. Dotterer, Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman K. S. Harmon pre- sided and the following business was transacted: The Board proceeded to open bids for purchase of automobiles for the Sheriff's Department. The bids received were as follows: Slate Pontiac $ 25,691.76 Womble Chevrolet $ 25, 298. 25 Mid State Ford $ 25, 255. 98 Upon examination it was determined that Mid State Ford bid was to furnish a 2 barrel carburetor while the bid specifications required a four barrel carburetor. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the bid of Womble Chevrolet be accepted. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the Board and presented the recommendations of City Rehabilitation Services, Inc., with respect to the bids received on rehabilitation projects. The bids and recommendations were reviewed and discussed. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the bids be accepted pending. approval of the bidder's ability to perform, as follows: Contract No. and Owner Amount Bidder #06, William Parker $ 14, 650. 00 Daniel Everwine #22, Elsie Feaster 13,950. 00 Daniel Everwine #25, Paul Marks 7, 475. 00 Daniel Everwine and that the bids received on Nos. 12, 19, 09, and 10, be rejected and rebid to obtain more competitive proposals. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
