000 10 . <br />0 2. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL. <br />A Community Development Council was created on <br />August 18, 1975. Members of this Council are appointed <br />by the County Commissioners and consist of the Chairman <br />of the.County Board of Commissioners, Community <br />Development Director, members of the County Board of <br />Commissioners, and concerned citizens. <br />Its purpose is to provide communication between Lee <br />County Government and the Community Development office. <br />It also supplies input concerning Community Development <br />goals and objectives and assistance in the management <br />and implementation of on-going community development <br />projects. <br />The Community Development Council should meet monthly <br />and its meetings shall be open to the public. Any <br />citizen may speak before the Council at any meeting. <br />The Community Development Council should establish <br />By-Laws that include sections regarding: (a) Purpose, <br />(b) Membership, (c) Term of membership, (d) Voting, <br />(e) Quorum, (f) Election of Officers, (g) Duties of <br />Officers, (h) Meeting Dates, (i) Special Meetings, <br />and (j) Amendments to By-Laws. <br />Meetings of the Community Development Council shall be <br />advertised in the Sanford Herald at least.one week <br />before the meeting.
