udK 10 <br />against it. <br />The Board next considered the request of the Grants Administration <br />to transfer from Line Item No. 68-650-73, a construction line item, to Line Item <br />No. 68-650-52, a line item for Land Structures and right of way, in the project <br />known as ADAP No. 5-37-0089-01, as requested by the representatives of the FFA, <br />since it covered the cost of installing a farm fence which had been installed to keep <br />cattle from wandering upon Airport premises. Upon motion made and duly seconded, <br />the transfer was approved, upon a roll call vote in which Commissioners Dotterer, <br />Funderburke, Nielsen, Wicker and Harmon voted for the motion and no one voted <br />against it. <br />Budget Amendment No. 23, pertaining to the Capital Outlay Fund <br />of the Lee County Board of Education, was presented to the Board, a copy of which <br />is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Jack <br />D. Funderburke,moved that the Budget Amendment No. 23 be approved. Commissioner <br />John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners <br />Dotterer, Funderburke, Nielsen, Wicker and Harmon voted for it and no one voted <br />against it. <br />The County Manager reported on the status of the resolutions <br />presently in force and effect by the Board which pertained to fire departments. The <br />Manager recommended that the Board rescind the present resolution and adopt an <br />interim policy and instruct the Director of Emergency Management to hold a series <br />of meetings and draft and prepare a new set of requirements for fire departments <br />which would be better suited to today's needs. <br />The County Manager also presented a map showing the territory to <br />be served by the Lemon Springs Fire Department. A copy of the map and description <br />are attached hereto and by this reference made a part of these minutes. Commiss- <br />ioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the description and territory designated as the <br />Lemon Springs Fire District, as shown on the map and description attached to these <br />minutes, be approved. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote, it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that <br />the Carolina Trace Fire Department and the Lemon Springs Fire Department be <br />added to the list of fire departments to receive monthly payments of support from <br />the County and further that the Director of Emergency Management be instructed <br />and authorized to hold and conduct such meetings and institute such investigation as <br />he deems appropriate for the drafting of a set of requirements for fire departments <br />within Lee County, to be submitted to this Board for its approval. Commissioner <br />John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
