Funderburke seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Reggie Durham, Executive Director; Mrs. Grace Hodges, <br />Chairman of Board of Directors; Mrs. Henrietta Nixon, Director; and Mr. Alvis <br />Brogden, Accountant, appeared before the Board on behalf of Lee County Council <br />On Aging, Inc. , and San-Lee Senior Citizens Center, and presented the budget <br />request for programs for the elderly. <br />. Mr. Billy Ray Cameron, Emergency Management Director, <br />appeared before the Board and presented petitions from the area of the Northview <br />Volunteer Fire Department and area of Deep River Volunteer Fire Department <br />requesting elections for establishment of a tax district, Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker moved that receipt of the petitions be acknowledged and that the petitions <br />be referred to the Board of Elections for examination, certification, if appropriate, <br />and return to the Board. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Douglas Wilkerson, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, <br />Mr. Meigs Golden, Chairman of Finance Committee, Mr. J. F. Hockaday, <br />President, and Mr. Elbert Price. Financial Officer, appeared before the Board <br />on behalf of the Central Carolina Technical College and presented its budget <br />request. Dr. Hockaday reviewed the future capital outlay needs of the institution. <br />Next, the Board discussed the programs offered by the college. <br />Mr. Elwin•Z. Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the <br />Board and presented proposal for an Environmental Impact Study, Mr, Buchanan <br />recommended that the firm of Williams & Works, Inc. , be selected for this <br />service. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the County employ Williams <br />& Works;. Inc. , to perform the Environmental Impact Sttidy for an amount not to <br />exceed $5, 700. 00. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next opened the bids received for duplicating, re- <br />ducing and binding certain records in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee <br />County. The bids received were from Hall & McChesney, Inc. , at the rate of <br />0. 24751 per page and from County Recording, a bid in the amount of $18, 304. 35. <br />The bids were turned over to the County Manager for his consideration and re- <br />commendation. <br />The Board next took up for discussion the bid received from <br />Womble Chevrolet, Company, for a pick up truck for use by the County Maintenance <br />Department. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved that the Board accept the <br />low bid of Womble Chevrolet Company in the amount of $7, 621. 02, Commissioner <br />
