NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, AS FOLLOWS: 1) The Board of Commissioners hereby calls an . election in the Northview Fire District for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters therein, the question of levying and collecting a special tax on all taxable prop- erty in said district, of not exceeding fifteen cents (15~) of the one hundred dollars ($100. 00) valuation of property, for the purpose of providing fire protection in said district. 2) That the Lee County Board of Elections shall advertise and conduct said election, in accordance with the provisions of Article 3A, Chapter 69, of the General Statutes of North Carolina, and with the procedures prescribed in Chapter 163 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, governing the conduct of special and general elections. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the following Resolution: WHEREAS, a Petition was presented to the Board of Commissioners, requesting an election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters living in an area outside of the corporate limits of any city or town, which area is described in the petition and designated as the Deep River Fire District; and WHEREAS, said petition has been examined and it has been determined that said petition has been signed by at least fifteen percent (157o) of the resident freeholders in said area; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has consulted with the County Board of Elections as to a date for the election in said district; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, AS FOLLOWS: 1) The Board of Commissioners hereby calls an election in the Deep River Fire District for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters therein, the question
