C~JO:! ~ parr <br />The Board then conducted a public hearing on the proposed budget. <br />Mr. Robert Dalrymple, Chairman of the Lee County Board of Education, was recognized <br />and Mr. Dalrymple requested that the Board of Education's budget request be honored <br />in full. An opportunity was given for others to speak, however, no one requested to be <br />recognized and therefore, the public hearing on the budget was closed. <br />The written request of Holt Truck and Tractor Company, for release <br />from the late listing penalty on its property, was presented to the Board, together with <br />the monthly Relief Report, copies of which are attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved that Relief <br />and Release in accordance with the documentation furnished by the Tax Supervisor, be <br />granted. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />The Board decided to have a work session on the following Wednesday, <br />June 17, 1981, to discuss budget matters with the Lee County Board of Education, and <br />to hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, June 24, 1981, to consider final adoption of the <br />budget. <br />Upon motion made, duly seconded, and unanimously adopted, it was <br />resolved to declare June as Recreation Month. <br />The Board next proceeded to open the bids received on Phase I - Alter- <br />ations, at the Lee County Sheriff's Department. The bids received are as shown on the <br />bid tabulation sheet which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />The bids were taken under advisement and no formal action was taken at this time. <br />A petition from residents of the Cool Springs Road, requesting an ex- <br />tension of the water line from U. S. Highway 421 up the Cool Springs Road to the point of <br />the present City water lines, was presented to the Board. Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker moved that the petition be filed with the other requests previously received by <br />the Board for a water line extension, to be considered when the Board receives the <br />engineer's report concerning water in Lee County and its consideration of expenditures <br />of Revenue Sharing Funds. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the meeting stand adjourned <br />until 7 o'clock p. m. , on Wednesday, June 24th, 1981, to reconvene in the Commissioners <br />Room in the County Office Building, which motion was duly seconded and upon a vote duly <br />adopted. <br />The meeting adjourned in keeping with the <br />CHAIRMAN <br />CLERK <br />
