BOOK 10 PACE 162 Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker rejoined the meeting and participated in the further deliberations of the Board. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that Mrs. Albert Davis, of Route 10, Clearwater Forest, be appointed to the vacancy on the Lee County Parks and Recreation Commission created by the resignation of Mrs. Marsha Penny, said appointee to serve the remainder of the three year term and until her successor is appointed and qualifies. The roster of the West Sanford Volunteer Fire Department was presented to the Board for certification as required by General Statute 118-23. Comm- issioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board, in its capacity, as the governing body of the West Sanford Fire Department, certify the list of active firemen to the North Carolina Firemen's Pension Fund and that the Chairman be authorized and directed to execute a certificate for such purpose. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The County Manager reported to the Board that certain adjustments were necessary to balance the budget for the last fiscal year and that accordingly he issued appropriation adjustment no. 810697, on June 30, 1981, a copy of which is attach- ed to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. The Board next considered the draft of a resolution to reorganize the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Board directed that the resolution be submitted to the Parks and Recreation Commission for their comments. The County Manager presented to the Board an assignment of classes to Grades and Ranges, a salary schedule, and a budget summary. The Board discussed securing door prizes for use at the annual confer- ence of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners. The County's request for rezoning of the property at 205 Hillcrest Drive will be heard by the Sanford Planning Board on Tuesday, July 7, 1981. Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the Board and reviewed the projects under his supervision. The Board next reviewed the reports received from the Council on Aging, Inc. ; Exodus House, Inc. ; District Health Department; and the Veterans Service Off is e r.
