MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, July 20, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, July 20, 1981, at 7:00 o'clock <br />p. m. , in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, <br />200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners <br />John E. Dotterer, Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, and Gordon <br />A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman K. S. Harrgon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by the Reverend Tom Coye, Pastor at <br />St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on July 6, 1981, were <br />approved and ordered recorded, on motion of Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke, <br />seconded by Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which motion was unanimously adopted <br />upon a vote. <br />The Board reviewed the list of the firemen on the roster of the <br />Tramway Fire Department. The Board determined that the list was accurate and <br />that the members met the eligibility qualifications required by law and therefore <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the Board certify the listto the Board <br />of Trustees of the North Carolina Fireman's Pension Fund. Commissioner Gordon <br />A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager brought to the Board's attention that the County <br />had received $5,400.00 in insurance proceeds from damages to one of the vehicles in <br />the Sheriff's Department. The County Manger reported that the Sheriff had requested <br />that the proceeds from the insurance policy be used to purchase used vehicles from the <br />State of North Carolina. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Sheriff's <br />request be honored and that the County use the insurance proceeds to purchase used <br />vehicles from the state. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motim <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The County Manager advised the Board <br />that he would prepare the necessary budget amendment for their approval to carry <br />out the wishes of the Board. <br />
