1 <br />• - 9~~K P;,GE ~1~ <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, August 3, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, August 3, 1981, at 9:30 o'clock <br />a. m. , in the Commissioner's Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, <br />200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners <br />John E. Dotterer, Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, and Gordon <br />A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by the Clerk, K. R. Hoyle. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on July 20, 1981, were <br />approved and ordered recorded, on motion of Commissioner John E. Dotterer, <br />seconded by Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, which motion was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next discussed road matters. The County Manger was <br />asked to correspond with people on Cotten Road and assist them in getting additional <br />signs installed by the Department of Transportation. The Board also discussed the <br />reply received concerning the installation of a through lane at the intersection of <br />Bragg Street and Nash Street near Lee Senior High School. The County Manager <br />was asked to advise the City of Sanford authorities of their suggestions. The County <br />Manager was authorized to start planning for a program of naming and numbering <br />streets and roads in the County. The Board also discussed G. S. 136-44. 8 which <br />establishes the procedures for submission of secondary roads construction programs <br />to boards of commissioners. <br />The County Manager next presented a budget amendment which was <br />identified as appropriation adjustment #81080302, a copy of which is attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. The County Manager reviewed the <br />amendment following which Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the budget <br />amendment be adopted. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and <br />upon a roll call vote, Commissioners Dotterer, Funderburke, Nielsen, Wicker and <br />Harmon voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />
