BOOK 22 PAGE 83 <br />1-1) <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />IN OPPOSITION OF LEVEL IV TREATMENT FACILITY <br />WHEREAS, on April 7, 2008, residents from the Hawkins Avenue, Greensboro Avenue, <br />Hill Avenue, and McGill Street appeared before the Lee County Board of Commissioners, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, interested parties expressed concerning for a Level IV treatment facility that <br />is proposed for the 700 block of Hawkins Avenue, Sanford, North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, the facility will house approximately 12 boys, mostly around 13 years of age <br />in a locked environment: and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed locked treatment facility will be located on a small tract of land, <br />in a residential neighborhood and close to downtown; and <br />WHEREAS, the students assigned to the facility will be treated for medical and behavioral <br />problems; and <br />WHEREAS, two local child care facilities, one pre-kindergarten school, elderly, and small <br />children currently reside in the area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, We the Lee County Board of Commissioners, express concern <br />for a Level IV treatment facility proposed for construction in the 700 block of Hawkins <br />Avenue, Sanford, North Carolina, and express support for the residents. <br />Adopted this 7th day of April 2008. <br />4 "PA QI& 11 <br />Robert H.
