BOOK 22 nu 35
To: Lee County Commissioners
From: Reinette Seaman
Date: February 14, 2008
Re: Sales Tax and Lee County High School
It is appropriate that I write to you on Valentine's Day because I want to express
my gratitude to you for the time and effort you devote to public service. I know
it is a gift of your heart to all of us who live in Lee County, and I thank you.
My heart urges me to give voice in support of the Friends of Lee County High
School. They are asking 1) that you exercise your authority to add .25% to the
current 6.75% sales tax and 2) that you put on the May 6 primary ballot the
matter of using some of the money so generated to fund the Restoration and Renewal
Plan for Lee County High School.
For almost forty years my husband and I, transplants from the Midwest, have been
happy to call Lee County home. My public school career here as a teacher of
English at LCHS leads me to express my earnest opinion that the action
recommended is the right course to take.
The state of the schools, all of the schools, is a matter of utmost importance to all
who live here. Even if I were not a retired teacher, as a citizen of Lee County I
would still ask you to pay careful attention to the state of Lee County High School.
Again, thank you. \ .
N'
E rN e tlk &h m
6,()o Vole /Ul
5,:,,,-k, d AJ C 733 ,
FEB 187
