0 BOOK 22 PAGE 14 0 <br />LEE C'bUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, the Board notes with sadness the death of William A. <br />Christian, a resident of Lee County, on Thursday, January 3, 2008, and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Christian distinguished himself by his service to this <br />county and the State in several legal capacities, namely as legal advisor to the <br />Sheriff's Department in Cumberland County, as an Assistant District Attorney in <br />the 11`h Prosecutorial District stationed in Harnett County, as a District Court <br />Judge first by appointment by Governor Hunt and thereafter by re-election until <br />his retirement, at which time he was Chief District Court Judge of the 11th Judicial <br />District, and in retirement he continued to serve as an emergency judge and <br />mediator: and <br />WHEREAS, he served this nation as an officer in the Air Force until his <br />retirement as a Colonel in the North Carolina Air National Guard; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Christian was an avid sportsman; excelling at both <br />hunting and fishing. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners, <br />that it mourns the death of Judge William A.
