BK 00025 PG: 0224 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />SPECIAL CALLED MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />NOVEMBER 12, 2012 <br />The special called meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened at 4 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government <br />Center, First Floor, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present <br />were Richard B. Hayes, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Charles T. Parks, Nathan E. Paschal, Linda A. Shook, <br />and James K. Womack. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was absent. Other staff in attendance was <br />County Manager John Crumpton, Human Resource Director Joyce McGehee, and Clerk to the Board <br />Gaynell Lee. <br />Chairman Shook called the meeting to order. <br />Commissioner Parks moved to go into closed session to consider a personnel matter per N.C. <br />General Statute § 143- 318.11(a) (6). Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was in closed <br />session. Upon returning from closed session, with all members present except Commissioner Reives <br />and Commissioner Womack, the meeting resumed. <br />Commissioner Oldham moved to offer the Lee County Attorney's position to Ms. Kerry Schmid <br />contingent upon a background check and drug testing. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives and Womack <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />With no further business to come before the Board, Commissioner Parks moved to adjourn the <br />meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />
