, <br /> LEE COUNTY <br /> Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br /> MINUTES OF THE JOINT MEETING <br /> BETWEEN THE <br /> LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD, <br /> SANFORD CITY COUNCIL, AND <br /> BROADWAY TOWN COMMISSIONERS <br /> McSWAIN EXTENSION EDUCATION & AGRICULTURE CENTER <br /> 2420 TRAMWAY ROAD <br /> SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br /> NOVEMBER 13, 2012 <br /> The quarterly joint meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners, Lee County <br /> Economic Development Corporation, Sanford City Council, and Town of Broadway <br /> Commissioners was held at the McSwain Extension Education & Agriculture Center, 2420 <br /> Tramway Road, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Richard <br /> B. Hayes, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Charles T. Parks, and James K. Womack. Commissioners <br /> Robert T. Reives and Linda A. Shook were absent. <br /> Donnie Oldham, Chairman of the Lee County Economic Development Corporation <br /> (EDC) welcomed everyone. <br /> Vice-Chairman Charlie Parks called the meeting to order on behalf of the Lee County <br /> Board of Commissioners. <br /> Ms. Crystal Morphis from Creative Economic Development Consulting gave an <br /> overview of current activities from EDC. <br /> Mr. Phil Sheridan, Director of Industry Development discussed a strategic plan of the <br /> Biofuel Center in bringing the biofuel industry to North Carolina and using the state's sites, like <br /> the one in Lee County, as a marketing tool. The Colon Road site would use wood products <br /> and forests from nearby sounding counties. Mr. Sheridan stated that the Central Carolina area <br /> has the right type of wood needed for the biofuel process. <br /> With no further business to come before the Boards', Commissioner Womack moved to <br /> adjourn the meeting on behalf of the Lee County Board of Commissioners.
