3. The existing Lee County Board of Health and the Lee County Department of Social <br /> Services Board shall maintain all powers and duties, until they are abolished effective <br /> July 12, 2023. <br /> 4. A County Consolidated Human Services Agency is hereby created, consisting of the <br /> employees of the Lee County Health Department and the Lee County Department of <br /> Social Services, effective July 12, 2023. <br /> 5. The governing body for the Consolidated Human Services Agency shall be the <br /> Consolidated Human Services Board,whose members shall be appointed after the <br /> establishment of the Consolidated Human Services Agency. The Consolidated Human <br /> Services Board shall have the powers conferred by N.C. General Statutes 153A-77 and <br /> will be expected to hold its first meeting July 12, 2023. <br /> 6. The Lee County Board of Commissioners authorizes the County Manager to form a <br /> nominating committee, consisting of members of the Lee County Health Board, the Lee <br /> County Department of Social Services Board, and the Sandhills Mental Health Board, <br /> who will be responsible for submitting nominees for membership to the Consolidated <br /> Human Services Board to the Board of Commissioners for their approval by June 5, <br /> 2023. <br /> 7. The County Manager shall appoint a Consolidated Human Services Director with the <br /> advice and consent of the Consolidated Human Services Board.
