Please see attached pictures. We believe this is due to the existing unstable condition of the walls. Additional
brick work and shoring will need to be done to try and fix these walls if possible or replacement walls may need to be Installed.
The mason would like to start while they are currently mobilized and run out of work which will most likely be Wednesday
12f7. Please confirm we can proceed with trying to fix these walls on a T&M(Time and Material)basis with the masonry
subcontractor.
Attachments
RFI#7-Pool Side Exterior Brick Between Storefront Openings.pdf,Brick4.jpg,Brick3.jpg,Brick2.jpg,Brickt.jpg
Awaiting an Official Response
All Replies Response from Mike Patton Mcgill Associates on Friday, Dec 9,2022 at 08.55 AM EST
As this RFI is closely related to RFI#8,the architect is actively working on both. The expectations are that an answer for RFI
#7 will come next week and coincide with the answer for RFI#8(due on 12/16/22)..
Arch ltecUEnoineer's Response
These cracks appear to be due to the manner in which the interior brick wing walls were removed. The
architect's details indicate that the brick openings were to remain as is and the aluminum storefront was
to fit to the existing opening. Please reference Details 3/A106.Also please note the attached
construction photos showing brick was removed in excess beyond the original opening. The attached
photo prior to construction shows the original condition of the doorways. In the pre-construction photo
the cracking is not present-Therefore,the current condition/cracking is a result of the manner in which
the masonry was removed and is not the Owner's responsibility.
J.M.Thompson Page 1 of 1 Printed On:Dec 15,2022 03:30 PM EST
