The design <br /> will include revisions to the drainage for the access to the site which includes an exclusive left and right <br /> turn lane and a continuous through lane. In addition to the site access, WSP will provide drainage design <br /> for the left and right lane on Westbound NC 42 and Eastbound NC 42 respectively. <br /> This project is contained within the NCDOT right of way,and hence it is assumed that design of stormwater <br /> control measures to reduce flows at this outfall will not be required,and their design is not included within <br /> this scope of services. Comments on the drainage design will be incorporated into subsequent roadway <br /> submittals. A complete drainage summary will be provided with 100% Plans Submittal, and the Final <br /> Sealed Plans and Bid Document Submittal. <br /> I <br /> WSP will provide design guidance to McAdams on the Erosion Control Plan to include the erosion control <br /> i <br /> devices such as location and types of devices for the off-site road improvements. <br /> Task 4— Traffic Management Plan <br /> The Traffic Management Plans will be prepared in accordance with but not limited to: <br /> f <br /> • NCDOT Roadway Design Manual <br /> 0 2018 NCDOT Roadway Standards Drawings <br /> • 2018 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures <br /> 0 MUTCD(Current Version) <br /> The Consultant shall prepare construction traffic control phasing and general notes for the proposed <br /> improvements.The Consultant shall prepare Intermediate Contract Times(ICT's)and Liquidated Damages <br /> (LD's)in coordination with the Client,to identify all time restrictions for construction operations that affect <br /> traffic. These ICT's and LD's will be included as part of the project special provisions. <br /> The final traffic control plans shall include a phasing sequence which shall include the work to be done in <br /> each phase, the traffic control details to be used for each phase, and any associated ICT's and LD's. Plan <br /> sheet drawings such as staging plans and details will not be provided. <br /> Traffic control quantities will not be provided. The Consultant will determine an appropriate construction <br /> cost percentage to account for traffic control costs for the project. The percentage will be developed in <br /> coordination with the Client and industry averages for similar projects constructed recently in the area. <br /> Task 5—Pavement Marking and Signing <br /> The Pavement Marking and Signing Plans(combined plan set)will be prepared in accordance with but not <br /> limited to: <br /> • NCDOT Roadway Design Manual <br /> • NCDOT 2018 Roadway Standards Drawings <br /> • NCDOT 2018 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures <br /> • MUTCD(Current Version) <br /> • 2009 NC Supplement to MUTCD <br /> WSP will develop final pavement marking and signing plans for the proposed improvements at the US 421 <br /> Southbound Ramps and NC 42 intersection.
