T -825, SUB 347 — DECREASE IN FUEL SURCHARGE FOR <br />HOUSEHOLD GOODS CARRIERS <br />EXPLANATION: By Order issued September 11, 2012, in this docket, the Commission <br />approved a recommendation by the Public Staff for an increase in the fuel surcharge <br />from $1.42 to $1.49 per bill of lading mile as shown in the supporting Household Goods <br />Carriers Fuel Surcharge Index Chart filed on October 6, 2005, in Docket No. T -825, Sub <br />339. The recommendation was made pursuant to, and in compliance with, Appendix A <br />of the Commission's January 18; 1991, Order in Docket No. M -100, Sub 121. <br />The Public Staff reviews the composite fuel price each week. According to information <br />provided by the United States Department of Energy — Energy Information <br />Administration, On- Highway Diesel Fuel Price Index and Retail Gasoline Price Index for <br />the Lower Atlantic Region, the current composite index price of fuel is $3.851 as of <br />October 29, 2012, which would support a fuel surcharge of $1.41 per bill of lading mile. <br />A copy of Schedule 2 showing the 2012 historical index prices has been provided to <br />Commission staff as required by Docket No. M -100, Sub 121. <br />RECOMMENDATION: (Stahl) That the Commission issue an order decreasing the <br />approved fuel surcharge to $1.41 per bill of lading mile. <br />
