asked if we wanted the check resubmitted. The local branch said they had not received
the check back. Ms. Fitzpatrick said this is unusual and we reached out to the School of
Government for guidance. The check said "refer to maker"and that's all we were
provided with. The bank couldn't give additional information and referred us back to
the individual, Mr. Patel. Commissioner Sharpe asked if any money has been payed.
County Manager Dr. Crumpton said Mr. Patel has paid the base amount of$9,000,
but there is still$2,000 left in fines and penalties. It's very odd situation, and Dr.
Crumpton has never seen this before. Commissioner Knecht asked if there is a
policy for this, but there is only a policy for property tax. Dr. Crumpton said he hasn't
had an issue with occupancy tax before. Mrs. Parrish said the only time she could find
one was back in 2007. Mr. Patel said the City has not responded to him, but will need to
appear before the Council as well.
Request_to_Appear_Before_the_Board_of Commissioners_YYffxMlAfrlQ1QXi.pdf
scan_wpa rri sh_2022-11-14-14-55-42.pdf
Motion: motion to waive penalties
Mover: Cameron Sharpe
For: 7 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe, Kirk
Smith, Bill Carver, Mark Lovick
Motion Result: Passed
Vill. MANAGERS REPORTS
VIII.A Monthly Financial & Sales Tax reports
Assistant County Manager of Governmental Support Lisa Minter filled in for Finance
Director Candace Iceman and provided the monthly financial report for September of
2022. The County is running just slightly behind on property tax compared to last
year due to annual expenses that we pay up front. The sales tax is running about
13% ahead compared to last year.
August 2022 Sales Tax Revenues.pdf
September 2022 Monthly Financial Report.pdf
VIII.B County Manager's Monthly Report for November 2022
County Manager Dr. John Crumpton provided his monthly report, including updates
on current projects, a copy of which is attached and incorporated into these minutes.
Dr. Crumpton also asked the Board to consider an alternate time for the regular
Board meeting on December 5 so as not to conflict with the Sanford Christmas
parade that evening. Chairman Smith proposed 12 noon on December 5, with the
swearing-in ceremony proceeding the meeting.
County_Managers_Mo nth ly_Report_Novem ber_14_2022.docx
Monthly Forced Collection Efforts report for October 2022.docx
November TRC Agenda [11.03.22].pdf
Parks and Rec Board 9.26.22 Minutes_signed.pdf
Parks and Rec Board 10.24.22 Agenda.pdf
Permits—MONTHLY REPORT OCTOBER 2022.pdf
Permits—MONTHLY REPORT SEPTEMBER 2022.pdf
Library_10.19.22 Lee County Library Board Agenda.pdf
Libra ry_2022_September_Director_Report.pdf Senior
K
