Motion: Motion to approve the Proclamation Honoring Retiring Commissioner <br /> and Vice-Chair Arianna Lavallee. <br /> Mover: Dr. Andre Knecht <br /> For: 7 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe, Kirk <br /> Smith, Bill Carver, Mark Lovick <br /> Motion Result: Passed <br /> III.0 Proclamation Honoring and Recognizing Special Contributions to Lee County <br /> Chairman Smith presented a proclamation to Commissioner Robert Reives honoring <br /> and recognizing his special contributions to Lee County. Commissioner Reives is the <br /> longest serving commissioner for the County, serving for more than 32 years thus <br /> far. He was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine in 2020, the highest honor the <br /> State of North Carolina awards for public service, and has served on several boards <br /> in the County. A copy of the proclamation is attached and incorporated into these <br /> minutes. Commissioner Reives requested to record his wife's name in addition to his <br /> own within his proclamation, and to also include Russell Spivey's wife's name in his <br /> proclamation as well. <br /> Motion: Motion to approve the amended Proclamation Honoring and <br /> Recognizing Special Contributions to Lee County. <br /> Mover: Dr. Andre Knecht <br /> For: 7 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe, Kirk <br /> Smith, Bill Carver, Mark Lovick <br /> Motion Result: Passed <br /> IV. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> IV.A 2023 Reappraisal - Public Hearing - Schedule, Standards and Rules <br /> Tax Administrator Michael Brown requested to hold a public hearing regarding the <br /> 2023 Reappraisal - Schedule, Standards and Rules in pursuant to NCGS 105-317. <br /> The Tax Office is also looking to ask the Board to adopt the schedules on <br /> December 5, 2022. <br /> Chairman Smith opened the public hearing at 6:25 p.m. <br /> No one spoke in favor or in opposition. <br /> Chairman Smith closed the public hearing at 6:26 p.m. <br /> Affidavit of publication 2023 Notice of Public Hearing <br /> Ad.pdf GS_105-317.pdf <br /> V.
