(i <br />v t13 <br />• Application for FY 2012 -13 Senior Center General Purpose Grant funding in <br />the amount of $11,753.00 (copy attached), and <br />• Proclamation for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in memory of <br />former DSS employee Lou Ann Davis (copy attached). <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanim <br />Chairman Shook read the Proclamation for National Breast Cancer <br />Pursuant to N.C. General Statute 153A -52.1, Chairman�Shook opened the floor for <br />Public Comments. The following signed up to speak and were allowed 3 minutes for <br />comments: "��� <br />1. Mr. Ron Hewett, 608 Valley Road, Sanford (stressed °the importance of a <br />Strategic Plan for Lee County), <br />2. Mr. David Miller, Baseball`Coach at Southern Lee High School (discussed <br />down - sizing of field house'tiproposed for Southern Lee High School property <br />on Tramway Road). �\ <br />Interim County Attorney Neil Yarborough gave an update on the proposed field house to <br />be constructed at Tramway Park. Mr. Yarborough stated since the project would be placed on <br />county property and funded the Boosters' Club it would still become county property. He <br />asked that revised plans be presented to the County Manager and the County would proceed <br />as soon as possible, the County having oversight over the project. <br />Elections Director Nancy Kimble presented <br />information on the upcoming November <br />election. Ms. Kimble stated�arlyo voting begins <br />on Thursday, October 18th and ends on <br />Saturday, November 3rd. Early voting sites will be set up at the Board of Elections Office on S. <br />Steele Street and the McSwain'Agricultural Center <br />on Tramway Road.
