A mural of him is being unveiled in Sanford on September 5, 2022. Linda <br /> McDuffie, the daughter of J.D. McDuffie, was present to accept the "Tribute <br /> Proclamation Honoring John Delphus "J.D."McDuffie,"a copy of which is <br /> attached and incorporated into these minutes. <br /> Motion: Motion to approve the "Tribute Proclamation Honoring John <br /> Delphus "J.D." McDuffie" as presented. <br /> Mover: Mark Lovick <br /> For: 7 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron <br /> Sharpe, Kirk Smith, Bill Carver, Mark Lovick <br /> Motion Result: Passed <br /> IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Pursuant to N.C. General Statute 153A-52.1, the floor was opened for Public <br /> Comments. The following person provided comment during the Public Comments <br /> section of the meeting: <br /> - Wendy Bryan, on behalf of the Tourism Development Authority (Supporting <br /> Multi-Sportsplex Development) <br /> V. OLD BUSINESS <br /> V.A Zoning Map Amendment (Rezoning) Recommendation from Planning Board <br /> Planning Administrator Amy McNeil presented a summary of a rezoning application <br /> from Rhetson Companies, Inc. to rezone a vacant 1.96-acre tract of land with <br /> frontage on Greenwood Road from Residential Restricted (RR) and Residential <br /> Agriculture (RA) to Highway Commercial (HC). The Planning Board met on July 11 th <br /> following the public hearing on the proposed rezoning and voted by a four to one <br /> vote to recommend that the Commissioners rezone the subject property to <br /> Neighborhood Commercial (NC), as opposed to Highway Commercial(HC) as <br /> originally requested, because Neighborhood Commercial(NC) was recommended <br /> by staff and the applicant's representative/attorney verbally acknowledged that this <br /> was agreeable to the applicant during the public hearing.
