Staff met
with McAdams to go over numbers and identify ways to move forward with the
project. The initial design developed in 2015 is different than the current proposed
design because there have been many features that have changed such as a
walking trail, stadium fields and a substantial playground. The priority was to get as
many diamond and rectangle fields as possible. Dr. Crumpton provided a
presentation detailing the cost estimate break down by sections in the proposed
design. The estimates for the stadium fields are beyond the County's ability to
contemplate at this time. On debt services, there is no projected impact to the tax
rate based on increasing the project budget to $40 million. The County Manager
recommended getting the project ready to bid and go out to bid. The plan is to bid
everything but the stadiums. The pink fields would likely be broken into two
alternates.
County_Managers_Mo nth ly_Report_August_8_2022.docx
7.25.22 Agenda.pdf
5.23.22 Minutes.pdf
Permit Report
Lee County Covid Update.pptx
LCEMS D_E Response July 2022 220802.xisx
CCH ED Wait Times 2022.pptx
Jul 2022 FirstHealth EMS Reporting Requirements.pdf
Motion: Motion to increase project budget from $25 million to $40 million
to include the green, light blue and yellow zones for the Sportsplex and to
instruct McAdams to begin the construction documents for the project.
Mover: Robert Reives
For: 6 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe,
Kirk Smith, Mark Lovick
Against: 1 - Bill Carver
Motion Result: Passed
10
