jv jl Commissioner Parks moved to approve the Consent Agenda which consisted of the following items: • Minutes from the October 18, 2010, May 21, 2012, and August 20, 2012 closed session minutes, • Minutes from the August 20, 2012 regular meeting, • FY 2012 -13 Seniors Health Insurance Information (SHIIP) Grant (copy attached), • Letter of appreciation to Lowe's Hardware for assistance at Buchanan Park, • Bid to Carolina Advanced Digital in the amount of $24,056.30 for etwork hardware for the new Emergency Management offices (copy attached), • Request for Proposal to The Wooten Company for th (FY 2011 CDBG Project (copy attached), N • Budget Amendment # 09/17/12/02 (copy attached), and • Resolution of appreciation for Bob Heuts (copy attached) Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Mr. Ron Hewett, 608 Valley Evergreen Audit) Poad „Sanford (Constitution Day) Sanford (Strategic Plan as recommended in the Community Development Director Bob Bridwell gave an update on the Endor Iron Furnace project. Mr. Bridwell stated that in 2002, members of the Railroad House began a campaign to save the Endor Iron Furnace. Working with`the Triangle Land Conservancy (TLC), the Endor Iron Furnace site and the surrounding 400 plus aces adjacent to the Deep River was acquired as part of the TLC land conservancy program. Owne`rship�of the property was transferred to the State of NC Department of Cultural Resources. As part of the original Memorandum of Understanding, TLC committed to management ofttie property in an working relationship with the Railroad House Museum. At this timeehe RailtoadNHouse Museum began fund raising efforts that continue today. No action was taken.b�ut Chairman \ Shook asked that a cost analysis be provided as to how much money would be needed to-restore the Furnace. The�Board co'n'sidered appointments to the Local Firemen's Relief Fund Board. Chairman Shook, on behalf,ofSDonald Andrews Chairman of the Lee County Fire Advisory Board stated that each fire departmentiis made up of three local members and two members appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Each fire department will forward annual funds that are not appropriated to the North Carolina State Firemen's Association Two appointments need to be made to serve on all the volunteer fire department boards and one to serve on the Cape Fear Fire Department Board. In September 2011 Commissioners appointed Commissioner Linda Shook and Donald Andrews to serve on the Fire Department Relief Fund Board and Commissioner Charlie Parks to serve on the Cape Fear Board along with Commissioner Shook.
