Dr. Marchant has indicated that he will be asking the City and Downtown Business Inc. to support this effort. They are also investigating grant funding opportunities. We have made the building commitment, and he will be asking them to commit to improvements inside the building. For the staff in the Government Center, this is a big morale booster. DSS and Health have been working in cramped spaces for years. With the failure of the Buggy Factory project, the employees have been waiting patiently for the County to address their space needs. Acquiring this 9,600 square foot office building provides the space that we need to create a better work environment for our employees. It also addresses our customer service needs for our citizens.
