V v <br />At this time, the College has not asked us to cover any additional expenditure for the Small Business <br />Center. Dr. Marchant has indicated that he will be asking the City and Downtown Business Inc. to <br />support this effort. They are also investigating grant funding opportunities. We have made the building <br />commitment, and he will be asking them to commit to improvements inside the building. <br />For the staff in the Government Center, this is a big morale booster. DSS and Health have been working <br />in cramped spaces for years. With the failure of the Buggy Factory project, the employees have been <br />waiting patiently for the County to address their space needs. Acquiring this 9,600 square foot office <br />building provides the space that we need to create a better work environment for our employees.
