BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Aug 11, 2022 <br /> AT 04:11:29 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0854 <br /> END PAGE 0855 <br /> INSTRUMENT # 06212 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> � # <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LEASE OF A PORTION OF 115 CHATHAM STREET, <br /> ALSO KNOWN AS THE BUGGY BUILDING, TO THE CITY OF SANFORD TO OPERATE <br /> CITY AND JOINT CITY/COUNTY DEPARTMENTS <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Sanford is a municipal government formed under the State of North <br /> Carolina; and <br /> WHEREAS, since 2014, the City of Sanford and the County of Lee have operated both <br /> independent and joint departments out of the building located at 115 Chatham Street, also known <br /> as the Buggy Factory, by leasing space from Progressive Development Corporation; and <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County intends to purchase the 0.509 acres shown on a survey entitled <br /> "Property of Progressive Development Company, LLC"dated September 29, 2010 and recorded <br /> in Plat Cabinet 2010, Slide 129, with closing set to occur on June 30, 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to continue to provide a"one stop shop" for developers and city/county <br /> residents, Lee County and the City of Sanford intend to continue to operate independent and joint <br /> departments out of the Buggy Factory building; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County intends to lease space to the City for at least four years beginning July <br /> 1, 2022 and the City will pay rent in the amount of$8,565.80 per month during the lease term, <br /> which amount may be adjusted annually based on the consumer price index, southeast region; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County Staff published notice of the Lee County Board of Commissioner's <br /> intent to adopt the lease of and said publication was published in The Sanford Herald on May 19, <br /> 2022 and at least thirty days has passed since said notice was provided; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br />
