BOOK 2 2 PAGE 735 <br />2. TIME OF PERFORMANCE <br />The services of the Attorney are commenced on the effective date of this contract and <br />shall be undertaken and completed in such sequence as to assure their expeditious <br />completion in light of the contract, but in any event, all of the services shall be <br />completed in not more than 18 months from the date of the Contract, unless an <br />extension of time is granted by the County. <br />3. COMPENSATION <br />It is expressly understood and agreed that in no event will the total compensation to be <br />paid hereunder exceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) without permission of the <br />County. <br />4. METHOD OF PAYMENT <br />Incremental monthly payments shall be made by the County to the Attorney subject to <br />the receipt of monthly invoices. Monthly invoices from the Attorney shall be based upon <br />a quoted fee of $150.00 per title examination and preparation of title opinion and $60.00 <br />per hour for miscellaneous legal services. <br />5. ADDITIONAL SERVICES <br />In the event that the County desires services hereunder whose cost is in excess of the <br />maximum compensation payable provided for above, a written amendment to this <br />contract may be negotiated, mutually agreeable to both parties, to increase the <br />maximum compensation payable. If the County and the Attorney are unable to agree as <br />to further compensation, either party may terminate the contract. <br />6.
