P;o6K 10 302 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, November 2, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of 'Lee, State-of North Carolina, convened on Monday, November 2, <br />1981, at 9:30 o'clock a.m., in the Commissioners Room on the second floor <br />of, the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Those present were Chairman, K.S. Harmon, Commissioners Lila P. Nielsen, <br />Jack D. Funderburke, Gordon A. Wicker. Dr. Dotterer was absent due to <br />illness. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open <br />for business. <br />was transacted: <br />Chairman K.S. Harmon presided and the following business <br />Reverend Richard Woodward gave the invocation. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on October 19th, <br />1981 were considered and approved as corrected on motion by Commissioner <br />Gordon Wicker and seconded by Commissioner Jack Funderburke, and unanimously <br />adopted upon a vote. <br />There were no road petitions for consideration by the Board, <br />however, Commissioner Wicker expressed concern over the State's method of <br />establishing priority which caused some roads to go several years without <br />paving while newer roads received such service first. Mr. Harmon stated <br />that the State uses a rating system that is updated yearly and is established <br />on a priority system. There was some further discussion and the County <br />Manager was requested to provide rating sheets on all county roads for each <br />member of the Board of Commissioners. <br />Mr. David Robinson of Robinson, Sanderlin and Associates and <br />Mrs. Reggie Durham appeared before the Board and presented the Transportation <br />Development Plan for Lee County. After some discussion, Commissioner Wicker <br />made a motion that the Transportation Development Plan be presented to the <br />Council on Aging Advisory Board and then come back to the Board of Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Lila Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />
