BASIS <br /> The State is required to ensure benefits are available to the household no later than thirty (30)calendar days <br /> following the date of application. To ensure households are provided with benefits in a timely manner, FNS <br /> applications and reapplications must be approved no later than the twenty-fifth (25th) calendar day from the <br /> date of the application for regular FNS application and no later than four (4) calendar days for households <br /> identified as expedited. <br /> • Federal Regulation: 7 CFR 274.2 <br /> • Federal Regulation: FNS 315 Application Time Frames <br /> • Federal Regulation: FNS 320 Expedited Service <br /> • Federal Program Policy: FNS Administrative Letter 1-2015 <br /> 2.The County will process 95%of regular FNS applications within the timeframe that allows the household to have access <br /> to the FNS benefits on or before the 30th calendar day from the date of application. <br /> RATIONALE <br /> The intent of this measure is to ensure all regular FNS applications are processed within the required <br /> timeframe. A food-secure household means that all members of the household receiving FNS benefits have <br /> access to healthy and nutritious food to support the health and well-being of the family including children, <br /> the elderly and people with disabilities. <br /> BASIS <br /> The State is required to ensure benefits are available to the household no later than thirty (30) calendar days <br /> following the date of application.
