VI.0 County Manager's Monthly Report for March 2022
County Manager Dr. John Crumpton presented a monthly report for the month of
March 2022, a copy of which is attached and incorporated into these minutes. Dr.
Crumpton requested the Board's review of a couple of letters drafted to support
internet service providers related to the Great Grant for funds to expand broadband
service. We do not have final proposals, but they are expected any day. The grant
applications are due April 4th. Ting, Conterra, Windstream and Randolph
Communications have indicated an intent to submit a grant application. There is a
maximum of 49% match proposed for the grant. The letter will indicate an amount for
the match with a cap and the County will need to enter into a subaward agreement
with the applicant upon receiving notification of the award. Related to the multi-
sports complex project, Commissioner Reives requested that anyone interested in
providing input relay their feedback through the Parks and Recreation Commission
and that a report be provided from the Commission. Review of the Department
budgets will be completed in a few weeks. Budget work sessions will be scheduled
for the Departments with significant changes between May 17th and June 3rd.
County_Managers_Monthly_Report MaMarch_21_2022.docx
March TRC Agenda [03.02.22].pdf
Monthly Tax Collection Managers Report February 2022.docx
MONTHLY PERMIT REPORT FEBRUARY 2022.pdf
Parks and Rec Commission 2.28.22 Agenda.pdf 2022
MARCH _ Library_Director_Report.pdf February 2022
LCEMS Reporting Requirements.docx Lee County
EMS ED Wait Times.pdf
Motion: I move we authorize the County Manager to send letters of
commitments to internet service providers interested in submitting
applications for the Great Grant to the NC Department of Information
Technology, committing no more than 50% of a required match per
application, and any subaward with an ISP must be brought back to the Board
for final approval.
Mover: Arianna Lavallee
For: 6 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe,
Kirk Smith, Mark Lovick
Absent: 1 - Bill Carver
Motion Result: Passed
Motion: Motion to allow Central Carolina Community College to proceed with
issuing a request for qualifications and bring back the selected firm to the
Board of Commissioners to enter the design phase of the Moore facility.
Mover: Arianna Lavallee
For: 6 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe,
Kirk Smith, Mark Lovick
Absent: 1 - Bill Carver
Motion Result: Passed
4
