This includes updating SAGA's web portal and providing <br /> support for workforce development partners. <br /> Broadway Mayor Donald Andrews provided updates on behalf of the Town of <br /> Broadway. The town has hired a new Town Manager— John Godfrey — and a new Police <br /> Chief— Evan Gunter. Broadway is performing a water and wastewater study to explore <br /> capacity options looking at either increasing the capacity of their current facility or partnering <br /> with the City of Sanford. Areas of focus in 2022 included Watson Lake Park, the Broadway <br /> Our Way Festival, applying ARPA funding, purchasing body cameras and South Main Street <br /> sidewalk improvements. The Broadway Our Way Festival will take place Saturday, April 16, <br /> 2022. <br /> City of Sanford Mayor Chet Mann provided updates on behalf of the City of Sanford. <br /> Mayor Mann provided a presentation illustrating growth trends. The City is undergoing water <br /> and sewer infrastructure improvements, including upgrading the existing water treatment <br /> plant. Land development policy changes have been adopted through the Unified Development <br /> Ordinance applying an overhaul to the rules for new single-family residential homes. The City <br /> has applied upzoning, replacing eight zoning districts with four and as dense as 6,000 square <br /> feet lots to allow for higher density development within urban areas of the community that can <br /> take advantage of the infrastructure that is already in place. <br /> Lee County Board of Commissioners Chairman Kirk Smith provided updates on behalf <br /> of Lee County. Lee County has officially kicked off the design phase of the new library at O.T. <br /> Sloan Park. The County is working with Vines Architecture for the design and SAMET/Sanford <br /> Contractors as the construction manager at risk. Cleanup is underway at the Magneti Marelli <br /> site, now known as the E. Eugene Moore Manufacturing and Biotech Solutions Center, which <br /> will serve as a regional asset providing essential training and workforce development in areas <br /> that will serve to benefit current and incoming businesses. The design phase for the Multi- <br /> Sport Complex is preparing to begin. Improvements at Horton, O.T. Sloan, Temple, San-Lee <br /> (Gravity) and Kiwanis Children's' Parks have been mostly completed and will benefit the <br /> community for years to come. Chairman Smith emphasized the importance of investments in <br /> local assets for the benefit of the community and an incentive for businesses and developers <br /> to locate to the area and take advantage of the many reasons Lee County is a great place to <br /> live, work and play. <br /> ADJOURN <br /> Motion: Motion to adjourn.
