BK:00025 PG:0040 <br />and they will be presented to the Board in August. The overall results were lower <br />than the last survey. The main issues that the employees addressed as <br />problems were stress, benefit reductions and pay. <br />2) Staff continues to review the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation <br />Advisory Board to change our ordinance which bans weapons from our Parks. <br />The County Attorney will be recommending changes to our ordinance at the <br />August 20 meeting. <br />3) At the last meeting I was asked for a floor layout of the Government Center that <br />showed how the bottom floor would look if Administration, Legal, Finance and <br />Human Resources moves into the Summit Building and DSS and Health took <br />over the vacated space. I have attached before and after layouts of the <br />Government Center along with the layout of the Summit Building. <br />4) The closing on the sale of the Linden Avenue property to the Housing Authority <br />occurred the last week of June. Mr. Talbert was able to get this transaction <br />closed before the end of the year. The County was paid $40,000 for this <br />property. The Authority will be transforming the property into 3 additional <br />housing units. <br />5) The Carbonton Area in western Lee County along Highway 42 suffered severe <br />wind damage on July 5 This small community was heavily impacted. Large <br />trees were blown over and some of the homeowners suffered damage to their <br />property. This damage did not get a declaration from the State for assistance. A <br />strong volunteer effort responded to the damage to help the citizens. County <br />staff continues to try to find ways to help the community.
