BK:00025 PG:0003 approximately 1,000 structures throughout the county will be eligible for better fire ratings. Commissioner Oldham moved to approve the creation of fire service districts as presented by the Fire Advisory Board and attached map, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered prior action taken during the June 18 meeting in reference to an appointment to the Lee County Fire Advisory Board. Chairman Shook refreshed the Board on action taken in reference to the appointment of Ms. Amber Dunigan to the Fire Advisory Board (appointment representing the Lee County Fire Fighters Association). After the June 18` Board meeting, Chairman Shook was informed that the Fire Fighters Association wished to reappoint Mr. Royce Gaines to serve another term. Ms. Shook stated she had spoken with Ms. Dunigan about the appointment and she was willing to step down. Commissioner Parks moved that the Board reconsider the vote taken during the June 18` meeting on the motion to appoint certain persons to the Fire Advisory Board. After discussion, Chairman Shook asked for a show of hands of those in favor of reconsidering the vote on the motion to appoint certain persons as members of the Fire Advisory Board. Upon a show of hands, the results were as follows: Aye: Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack Nay: Hayes The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a 6 to 1 vote. Commissioner Reives moved to reappoint Mr. Royce Gaines to the Lee County Fire Advisory Board to serve as the recommendation of the Fire Fighters Association. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered appointments to various boards and commissions. Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee presented applications for vacant positions on the following boards: Americans with Disabilities Act Committee (ADA) Board of Equalization and Review Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority Lee County Planning Board Rest Home - Nursing Home Advisory Board Agriculture Advisory Board Parks and Recreation Commission Commissioner Womack moved to appoint Ms. Betty Turner - Shelton to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Board.
