V.B Planning Board Recommendation for a Zoning Map Amendment (Rezoning) for 118
Perkinson Road from RR to HC
Planning Administrator Amy McNeill provided a summary of an application from
Circle K. Stores to rezone 0.45 acres of land developed with a single-family home
addressed as 118 Perkinson Road from Residential Restricted (RR) to Highway
Commercial (HC). The Planning Board met on January 24th after the public hearing
was held and voted unanimously to recommend that the Commissioners approve the
proposed zoning map amendment. Prior to the vote, the Chairman read the following
conflict of interest statement: "If anyone has a conflict of interest pursuant to NC
General Statute 160D-109 as a reminder, a governing board member shall not vote
on a legislative decision regarding a development regulation adopted pursuant to this
chapter where the outcome is reasonably likely to have a direct, substantial and
readily identifiable financial impact on the member. A governing board member shall
not vote on any zoning map amendment if the landowner of the property subject to a
rezoning petition or the applicant for a text amendment is a person with whom the
member has a close familial, business or other associational relationship."No one
on the board indicated a conflict of interest.
001-REZ@118 Perkinson Rd-BINDER.pdf
Motion: Motion that the proposed zoning is consistent with the Plan SanLee
long-range plan designation of Maker District because this district is
supportive of commercial uses, such as convenience retail, with public
water and sewer and lists Highway Commercial as a current zoning district.
Mover: Arianna Lavallee
For: 7 - Arianna Lavallee, Dr. Andre Knecht, Robert Reives, Cameron Sharpe,
Kirk Smith, Bill Carver, Mark Lovick
Motion Result: Passed
4
