ROOK 10 314 <br />To: Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />November 13, 1981 <br />The Ambulance Advisory Committee met October 27, 1981 and the following <br />topics were discussed and recommendations were made. <br />Problems associated with carrying patients to out of town <br />hospitals from their residence: <br />Recommendations were that patients local physician request <br />that they be carried to another facility, cash basis, or <br />that the local hospital did not have proper equipment oir <br />specialist available. <br />2. Answering calls out of the County: <br />It was recommended this would not be done except in true <br />emergencies and within a four or five mile radius. <br />3. Transporting patients to doctors offices: <br />It was recommended that this not be done. <br />4. Long distance non-emergency transfers: <br />The recommendations were to only do this on a cash basis or <br />if ordered by doctor. (This will take second priority to <br />emergency calls or transfers). <br />5. Transfers from Central Carolina Hospital between the hours of <br />P. M. and <br />It was recommended this not be done unless true emergency and <br />ordered by a doctor. <br />6. Transferring patients to clinics at out of town hospitals and <br />waiting for them or going back to pick them up later: <br />It was recommended that this not be done. <br />7. Assist Moore, Harnett or Chatham counties if needed: <br />Recommendations were to assist these counties only in a true <br />emergency and if personnel and equipment are available. <br />8.
