~qbx <br />Messrs. Jack Thompson, Ed Boyle, Garrett Kelly and Francis <br />Chester, appeared before the Board on behalf of the residents of Quail Ridge Sub- <br />division and outlined the problems they are experiencing with dogs in that commun- <br />ity. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the County Attorney prepare a dog <br />ordinance for consideration by the Board at its next meeting. Commissioner Lila <br />P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. King Moore Willis of John C. Muse Company, appeared <br />before the Board and reported on the audit made of the County's fiscal affairs. A <br />copy of the audit was given to each Commissioner and a summary was given of the <br />firm's findings. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the Board contract <br />with John C. Muse Company for auditing services for the next fiscal year. Comm- <br />issioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The meeting recessed at 12:30 p. in. , for lunch. The meeting re- <br />convened at 1:30 p. m. , with all Commissioners present. <br />Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Administrator, appeared.before <br />the Board and reviewed the report on the projects being supervised by his depart- <br />ment. <br />Mr. Buchanan presented bids for the consideration of signs at the <br />Industrial Park. The bids received were from L. P. Cox Company in the amount of <br />$22, 000. 00 and from J. C. Johnson Construction Company in the amount of <br />$18, 868. 87. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the low bid of J. C. <br />Johnson Construction Company in the amount of $18, 868. 87 be accepted, provided, <br />that the Lee County Industrial Development Corporation pay to the County all of said <br />contract price in excess of $9,400. 00. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke second- <br />ed the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that an engineering change <br />order in the contract of J. C. Johnson Construction Company be made to include the <br />graveling of driveways, some drainage runoff construction and the paving of two <br />driveways to residents in the San-Lee Heights area under the 1980-81 Community <br />Development Program, and that the bill of Williams & Works for professional <br />services in this regard in the amount of $500. 00 be approved for payment. Comm- <br />issioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Mr. Robert Bracken appeared before the Board with Mr. Buchanan <br />with respect to the plans and specifications for the water line to the Deep River <br />School. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved to proceed to advertise for bids <br />to construct this water line. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
