-- <br /> -\\ <br /> \\ ( ( 1 \i` <br /> * A *: <br /> , <br /> RESOLUTION SELECTING THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AT RISK <br /> DELIVERY METHOD FOR THE LEE COUNTY LIBRARY <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County Board of Commissioners has approved the construction of a new <br /> Library to replace the existing Lee County Library located at 107 Hawkins Avenue, Sanford,NC <br /> 27330; and <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County has compared the advantages and disadvantages of using the <br /> Construction Management at Risk method for this project in lieu of the delivery methods <br /> identified in N.C.G.S. 143-128(al)(1)through N.C.G.S. 143-128(al)(3); and <br /> WHEREAS, Construction Management at Risk provides an opportunity for involvement of the <br /> contractor during the design process for the purpose of providing the architect with feedback on <br /> constructability,real-time cost implications, scheduling, and other design issues; and <br /> WHEREAS, Construction Management at Risk requires the Construction Manager to use <br /> prequalified subcontractors; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Construction Management at Risk allows for transparency of the overall bidding <br /> and construction process, including the costs incurred by the Construction Manager; and <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County has concluded the Construction Management at Risk method is in the <br /> overall best interest of this project compared to the other delivery methods available in N.C.G.S. <br /> 143-128(al)(1)-(3). <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners selects <br /> the project above for the Construction Management at Risk construction delivery method in <br /> accordance with N.C.G.S. 143-128.1. <br /> Adopted this 115Th day of )46 V(J(nber , 201 l • e.
