County Manager's Report — November 15, 2021 Ongoing Projects Courthouse & Government Center Renovations — Work continues in the Main Courthouse Building. Renovations continue to the old Register of Deeds and District Attorneys and Magistrate Courtroom areas. Work at the courthouse should be completed before the holidays. Work at the Government Center is still ongoing. Phases 1 & 2 are anticipated to be complete November 22. Phase 3 will start immediately after completion of the first two phases. We expect completion of this entire project in the first quarter of next year (2022). Historic Courthouse Grant — No update at this time. Parking Lot Projects — Fred Smith, Inc. is in various stages on the parking lot projects for the Courthouse, Board of Elections, and Douglas Drive. All of these projects should be completed by the end of November. BAR Construction has begun the renovations of the Hillcrest Parking lot. This project will be completed by the end of November. Parks and Recreation Projects — Bob Hales Center — This project is essentially complete. We continue to work on punch list items with the contractor and are having issues with them completing the work and addressing some quality issues. Legal is now involved and we will keep the Board updated as we progress. The estimate for AC being placed inside the gym came in around $150,000. Staff will be recommending that we add this project to ARP list. Horton Pool Design — Design for the upgrades to the Horton Pool continue. This project should be ready for bid in December or early January. Park Master Plan Projects — Phase 1 at Horton and Kiwanis Children's Parks are complete. Sidewalks and the new basketball courts at Temple Park are nearing completion. The contractor is also working on the monument to the history of the park and should be complete by December 1. Adding playground equipment to Phase 1 in this park is something staff wants to discuss once we get closer to the completion of all the parks and Government Center projects. Work on the tennis courts at O.T. Sloan continues. Completion of this phase of the Master Plan should be completed by December 1 . The contractor was awarded additional time based on weather delays. Other Items COVID-19 Update — The Manager will provide an update at the meeting. San-Lee Mountain Bike Trails —Gravity Park — Black Diamond Designs has completed the dedicated return and emergency trail, green/beginner level trail — 1, a blue intermediate level jump line — trail 2, and is 90 percent complete with the third trail, which will be an intermediate/advanced level trail.
