Memorandum of Understanding County of Lee and US Motto Action Committee This is a Memorandum of Understanding between the County of Lee (hereinafter referred to as the"County") and the US Motto Action Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee"). Both parties agree and understand that this memorandum of understanding sets out the respective responsibilities regarding placing the US Motto on certain County owned property. The Committee has raised sufficient funds to pay for the US Motto of"In God We Trust"to be placed on the Lee County Government Center, the Lee County Courthouse and inside the Lee County Board of Commissioner Chambers. The parties agree to the following: 1. The Committee will raise the funds necessary to purchase and install the lettering for the US Motto to be placed on the Lee County Government Center, Lee County Courthouse and the Board of Commissioners Chambers. 2. Any liability associated with the installation of the lettering including but not limited to damages to personal or real property shall be the sole responsibility of the US Motto Action Committee. 3. The placement of the lettering will be allowed as shown on the attached pictures. 4. The Committee will consider the lettering to be a donation to Lee County Government thus Lee County Government will become the rightful owner of the lettering upon commencement of the installation. 5. If, at any time, Lee County Government determines a need to remove, move or alter the lettering, it will notify the US Motto Action Committee of its intent, but will have ultimate ownership and decision-making authority over the use and/or placement of the lettering.
