Jennifer Gamble
From: Whitney Parrish
Sent: Monday, October 18, 2021 4:53 PM
To: County Commissioners
Cc: John Crumpton; Jennifer Gamble
Subject: FW: [EXTERNAL]My Vote
FYI.
From: Cleo Bryant <cleo99bryant@yahoo.com>
Sent: Monday, October 18, 2021 4:22 PM
To: Whitney Parrish <wparrish@leecountync.gov>
Subject: [EXTERNAL]My Vote
AUTION: External Email. Thank you!
Hello my name is Cleo Bryant
I live at 813 W McIntosh St., Sanford, NC 27330
I am here to ask the board not to vote for MAP F. "Plan F" manipulates District 1 and undermines
the ability for Black voters in Lee County to elect their candidate of choice.
Under "Plan F," dilutes the power of the Black vote in this district, a district created with the
explicit purpose of allowing Black candidates to elect their candidate of choice, in ways that
potentially violate state and federal law.
Plan F significantly decreases the Black population in District 1 (-2.2%), diluting Black voting
power, while significantly increasing the white population (+3.8%).
Lee County Commissioners should forego the potentially discriminatory Plan F and instead pursue
options that protect all Lee County voters.
Do not silence minority voices
Thank you
