* * <br /> t t'w <br /> RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING 15 YEARS OF SERVICE AND AWARDING THE <br /> SERVICE SIDE ARM OF CHIEF DEPUTY RANDALL BUTLER OF THE <br /> LEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT UPON HIS RETIREMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Chief Deputy Randall Butler began his career with the Lee County Sheriff's <br /> Department as Chief Deputy on December 4, 2006; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chief Deputy Randall Butler will retire effective December 31, 2021 with 15 years <br /> of dedicated service in law enforcement with the Lee County Sheriff's Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County Sheriff Tracy Carter has requested to present Chief Deputy Randall <br /> Butler with his service side arm as part of his reward of service in law enforcement in <br /> recognition of a job well done in the protection and service to the communities of Lee County; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,N.C.G.S. § 20-187.2 allows the Lee County Board of Commissioners, in their <br /> discretion,to award a retiring member of the Lee County Sheriff's Department with their service <br /> side arm; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chief Deputy Randall Butler is eligible to own,possess or receive a firearm under <br /> the provisions of State and/or federal law; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Board of Commissioners wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Chief <br /> Deputy Randall Butler for his loyalty to Lee County over the past 15 years and wish him <br /> happiness as he begins this exciting new chapter in his life. <br /> NOW BE IT RESOLVED, Chief Deputy Randall Butler is hereby awarded his service side <br /> arm, a Sig Sauer P320 9mm, serial number 58A162075, <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Lee County Board of Commissioner recognizes and <br /> honors Chief Deputy Randall Butler for his 15 years of honorable service in protecting and <br /> serving the communities of Lee County. <br /> Presented and adopted this 13th day of December, 2021. <br /> -A <br /> K. k D.
