` 1d ~ { ~ 329 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />Y <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, December 21, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, December 21st, 1981, at <br />7:00 o'clock p. m. , in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, Z00 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present <br />were Commissioners John E. Dotterer, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen and Gordon <br />A. Wicker. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke was absent when the meeting <br />opened. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for business. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The Reverend James Caviness, Pastor of Center United Methodist <br />Church, gave the invocation. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the minutes of the <br />regular meeting held on December 7, 1981, be approved and ordered recorded. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke joined the meeting and <br />participated in the further deliberations of the Board. <br />The leasing of a computer with First Municipal Leasing Corporation, <br />a copy of which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, was <br />approved, upon motion of Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Lila P. Nielsen, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote: <br />Representatives of the Tempting Community appeared before the <br />Board and discussed the needs for water service in that area. Costs breakdown as <br />prepared by Williams & Works, Inc. , were distributed and the matter discussed at <br />some length. The representatives were advised of the difficulty in obtaining grant <br />money at this time and no formal action was taken. <br />
