mile <br />The Board next discussed the property owned by the County in and <br />around the old hospital site. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the Board <br />proceed with plans to sell the two homes on Hillcrest Drive and the vacant lot next <br />to Cameron's Body Shop, through use of a professional auctioneer. Commissioner <br />Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner John E. Dotterer, which motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen and unanimously adopted upon a vote, <br />the County Manager Hartman was authorized to accept appointment to the Board of <br />Trustees of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Joint Risk <br />Management Agency. <br />The Board resumed its consideration of the Personnel Policy and <br />considered the draft, section by section. Various amendments and eliminations <br />were made following which the Board reviewed the final draft. Commissioner John <br />E. Dotterer moved that the final draft of the Personnel Policy, a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, be approved and adopted <br />as and for the Personnel Policy of Lee County. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Dotterer, Funderburke, Nielsen <br />and Harmon voted for it and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker voted against it. The <br />Chairman declared the resolution had been adopted by a majority vote. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke, which motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, it was resolved to go into Executive <br />Session to discuss Personnel matters. Following the Executive Session, Commission- <br />er Lila P. Nielsen moved that the Executive Session be ended and that the Board <br />resume its public meeting. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager, Walter B. Hartman, Jr. , advised the Board <br />that the Legislative Conference of the National Association of County Officials <br />would be held on February ZO through the 24th, and that consideration should be <br />given to having a representative present. <br />There was a discussion of the reports received from the various <br />County agencies and also a discussion about having Commissioners report on the <br />meetings of the Boards where they serve as members. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it <br />was adjourned, sine die. <br />. 3. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />C <br />
