upg:{ 10 359 Ex§ <br />The Board considered a petition requesting that the Department <br />of Transportation take over the roads in the Lee County Industrial Park, known as <br />Rhyne Drive and McLeod Drive and that they be added to the Secondary Road System. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved the adoption of the resolution requesting <br />such addition to the State Maintained Secondary Road System, a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Gordon <br />A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the portion of old <br />highway 421 which is now. Secondary Road 1384, be named Forest Wood Park Road. <br />Commissioner Gordon A, Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unan- <br />imously adopted. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen presented a petition requesting <br />that Hope Street, Ann Street, and Hayden Street, in Carriage Hills Estates, Section <br />"A", be added to the SecondaryState Maintained Road System. Commissioner Lila <br />P. Nielsen moved that a resolution requesting the addition of said roads to the State <br />Maintained Secondary Road System, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this <br />reference made a part hereof, be adopted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the <br />Board and reviewed the status of the projects being supervised by his office. Mr. <br />Buchanan reported that he had received bids for the sale of land in East Sanford <br />as follows: Mr, and Mrs. James A. Redding, $15. 00 for . 012 acre; Lee E. Siler, <br />$25. 00 for .027 acre; Nonia Chesney, $40. 00, for .097 acre; and Wilma Chesney <br />and Nonia Chesney, $40. 00, for . 135 acre. Mr. Buchanan explained that these <br />were small parcels which separated the parties homes from the public street and <br />were acquired with grant funds and were being sold in accordance with the require- <br />ments of State law. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the County accept <br />the bids and direct and authorize the appropriate officials to run the necessary <br />advertisements in order that the County may accept the bids and convey the property. <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Buchanan then discussed with the Board the construction <br />project for installation of the water line to Deep River School. Commissioner Gordon <br />A. Wicker moved that the County request authority from the appropriate agencies of <br />the Federal Government for permission to extend the Deep River water line as far <br />as the available grant funds will permit. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
