upg:{ 10 359 Ex§ The Board considered a petition requesting that the Department of Transportation take over the roads in the Lee County Industrial Park, known as Rhyne Drive and McLeod Drive and that they be added to the Secondary Road System. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved the adoption of the resolution requesting such addition to the State Maintained Secondary Road System, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the portion of old highway 421 which is now. Secondary Road 1384, be named Forest Wood Park Road. Commissioner Gordon A, Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unan- imously adopted. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen presented a petition requesting that Hope Street, Ann Street, and Hayden Street, in Carriage Hills Estates, Section "A", be added to the SecondaryState Maintained Road System. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that a resolution requesting the addition of said roads to the State Maintained Secondary Road System, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, be adopted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the Board and reviewed the status of the projects being supervised by his office. Mr. Buchanan reported that he had received bids for the sale of land in East Sanford as follows: Mr, and Mrs. James A. Redding, $15. 00 for . 012 acre; Lee E. Siler, $25. 00 for .027 acre; Nonia Chesney, $40. 00, for .097 acre; and Wilma Chesney and Nonia Chesney, $40. 00, for . 135 acre. Mr. Buchanan explained that these were small parcels which separated the parties homes from the public street and were acquired with grant funds and were being sold in accordance with the require- ments of State law. Commissioner John E. Dotterer moved that the County accept the bids and direct and authorize the appropriate officials to run the necessary advertisements in order that the County may accept the bids and convey the property. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. Buchanan then discussed with the Board the construction project for installation of the water line to Deep River School. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the County request authority from the appropriate agencies of the Federal Government for permission to extend the Deep River water line as far as the available grant funds will permit. Commissioner John E. Dotterer seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
