WHEREAS,the public hearing notice with the maps of Plans A and E was also posted at the <br /> Lee County Library, Lee County Courthouse, Lee County Summit Building and Lee County <br /> Board of Elections; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Board held a public hearing on Plans A and E on October 4, 2021. At that <br /> meeting a Plan F was presented by the Board and the Board voted to move forward with staff <br /> working on the boundary lines of Plan F while also seeking public comment on Plan F; and <br /> WHEREAS, in keeping with the doctrine of one-person, one-vote,the Board of Commissioners <br /> feels it is necessary to redefine Electoral Districts; and <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 1. That the Resolution Altering the Structure of the Board adopted on June 26, 1989 as <br /> amended by resolution adopted on October 18, 1993, July 25, 2001, and July 18, 2011, is <br /> amended by deleting the present provisions describing Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4, which are defined <br /> in Paragraph 3 of the 1989 Resolution, and inserting in lieu thereof the following: <br /> 3. Maps showing the boundaries of the four single-member districts are available for <br /> public inspection at the office of the Clerk to the Board, pursuant to North Carolina General <br /> Statute Section 153A-20. All references to streets which are boundaries of a district shall mean <br /> to the middle line of the right-of-way of such street. The districts are as follows: <br /> DISTRICT 1: Includes all persons residing within the boundaries of the area beginning <br /> at a point at the intersection of East Weatherspoon Street and North Third Street, thence east <br /> along East Weatherspoon Street to North Seventh Street, thence south along North Seventh <br /> Street to North Avenue, thence east along North Avenue to North Tenth Street, thence south <br /> along North Tenth Street to Midland Avenue, thence East along Midland Avenue to North <br /> Eleventh Street,thence north along North Eleventh Street to Lower Moncure Road, thence north <br /> along Lower Moncure Road to NC 87 Highway Bypass, thence north along NC 87 Highway <br /> Bypass to Wallace Branch Creek,thence east along Wallace Branch Creek to F. L. Dowdy Lane, <br /> thence south along F. L. Dowdy Lane to Lower Moncure Road, thence north along Lower <br /> Moncure Rd to Lick Creek Road, thence east along Lick Creek Road to Poplar Springs Church <br /> Road, thence south along Poplar Springs Church Road to Avents Ferry Road,thence south along <br /> Avents Ferry Road to Broadway Road,thence west along Broadway Road to Cox Mill Road, <br /> thence south along Cox Mill Road to Mt Pisgah Church Road, thence south along Mt Pisgah <br /> Church Road to US 421 Highway,thence east along US 421 Highway to the Sanford city limits, <br /> thence clockwise along the Sanford city limits to Carrs Creek, thence north along Cans Creek to <br /> Cox Maddox Road,thence west along Cox Maddox Road to US 421 Highway Bypass,thence <br />
