STEELE STREET IN THE CITY OF SANFORD <br /> TO JOHNSTON LEE HARNETT COMMUNITY ACTION <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County acquired title to a lot located at 225 S. Steele Street, in the City <br /> of Sanford by Deed recorded in Book 30 Page 537 in the Office of the Register of Deeds for Lee <br /> County with the property bearing the PIN Number of 9642-79-1391-00; and more particularly <br /> described as follows: <br /> All that certain tract or parcel of Subject to restrictive covenants and easements of <br /> record. <br /> WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners of Lee County desires to dispose of the lot as <br /> being surplus to the County's needs, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the County has the authority pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes <br /> 153A-176 to dispose of real property belonging to the County according to the procedures <br /> prescribed in North Carolina General Statutes, Chapter 160A, Article 12 and has the specific <br /> authority pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 160A-279 to convey by private sale real <br /> property to a public or private entity which carries out a public purpose, and; <br /> WHEREAS, The County has North Carolina General Statute 153A-149(c)(30) authorizes <br /> the County to expend funds for providing for the public welfare through the maintenance and <br /> administration of public assistance programs not specifically authorized under the Department of <br /> Social Services Chapter such as addressing the homeless needs in the County, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Johnston Lee Harnett Community Action, is a non-profit corporation <br /> serving the public purpose of providing various services to low to moderate income persons in <br /> the City and the County, and; <br /> WHEREAS, Johnston Lee Harnett Community Action, by and through its board of <br /> directors has sought a donation of the property located at 225 S. Steele Street in order to provide <br /> offices and a physical place to provide services to its clients in Lee County and has agreed to use <br /> the property in furtherance of its public purpose and if Johnston Lee Harnett Community Action <br /> no longer uses the property for the public purpose of providing services to low to moderate <br /> income persons, then the property will revert back to the County. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as <br /> f_11-----_ <br />
