VI.D Project 4837-8117-01-21 Horton Pool Design
On April 1st, a contract for McGill and Associates was awarded for Horton Park Pool.
The agenda provides for three different pool designs. Development Services Director
Santiago Giraldo presented three options and recommended Option #3 which allows
for separation of smaller and older children and allows more efficient use of the pool.
An allowance of$40,000 for water features is in the budget. An alternate was
provided for a family restroom. Options 1-3 range from $1,464,900. The splash pad
features go up to 18 inches and there will be a rope at the three-foot section. The
deepest the pool will go is five feet. Commissioners Reives asked about lighting and
asked for consideration to be given. Splitting the work to a pool contractor and a
general contractor for the bathhouse was recommended, which would save about
$100,000 on the project. The shortfall can be covered by fund balance, Parks and
Recreation funds, or ARPA funds. Not all of the ARPA projects have been
discussed. The difference between what was allocated and what the estimate is is
$352,000. Staff recommends taking financial option #2 and the difference in funding
be provided by fund balance until ARPA is later determined.
Revised Elevations for Horton Poolhouse.pdf
Revised Floorplan Horton Poolhouse.pdf
Horton Community Pool Opinion of Probable Costs
8.31.21.pdf 5 - WATER FEATURES.pdf
4 -Option 3.pdf
3 -Option 2.pdf
2 -Option 1.pdf
1 - Ex.
